The bright red spot that appear on our body or face is called cherry angioma. They are also known as Campbell de Morgan spots. Best described as a small, red benign skin growth that can develop virtually anywhere on your body, though they are most found on the arms, shoulders and torso.
These red spots are usually harmless and non-cancerous, however they will not go away of their own and can feel uncomfortable if under pressure from items of clothing, like waistbands. Their appearance can be unsightly and can impact self-esteem. For this reason, many people choose to undergo with cherry angioma removal treatment.
IMPORTANT!: We recommend that you see your doctor if your cherry angioma spots bleeds or changes size, shape or colour. In some cases, doctor may wish to biopsy the lesion to confirm the diagnosis before cherry angioma laser removal.
It’s unknown what causes cherry angiomas to form, though many people may be genetically more likely to develop them. Several other possible factors can contribute to their progression, such as pregnancy, exposure to the sun, certain medications (such as radiation therapy) or stress. There appears to be a link between cherry angiomas and age. They often begin to appear when individuals reach 30 years old and seem to increase in size and number with age.
There are quite few possibilities to remove them, like cryosurgery, electrosurgery, IPL, but the best way to remove these red papules is a medical laser therapy.

Generally, between 1-3 treatments might be necessary to completely remove cherry angiomas, especially if they are big and raised. However there are cases when more sessions are required, depending on the lymphatic system's ability to eliminate it.
NOTE: if cherry angioma case can be easily recognised, we can perform treatment straight after an initial consultation.
For laser safely treat these vascular concerns, we can treat individuals with skin types I – III, according to Fitzpatrick scale. Skin type IV, V and VI is extremely high on risk to develop hypopigmentation (an area of skin becoming lighter than the baseline skin colour), therefor we do not do this treatment for those individuals.
